Starting Your Addiction Recovery Journey
Step One:
Confidential Consultation
It starts with one confidential, no-pressure phone call. During your initial consultation, you’ll speak to an admissions specialist who can answer all of your questions and help you determine which of our addiction treatment services will fit your needs best.
Step Two:
Quick Insurance Verification
Navigating through insurance on your own can be time-consuming and complex. Why not let us do the work? In the matter of minutes, we can make contact with your provider, verify your insurance policy, and get back to you with a clear breakdown of your benefits.
Step Three:
Admission Scheduling
Once your application is complete and you’ve made the bold decision to get help, we’ll schedule your admission and arrange for transportation if necessary. It’s been our experience that the sooner you arrive, the better chances of a successful recovery.
Step Four:
Medical Evaluation
Upon arrival at our rehab center in Mississippi, our top priority is making sure you are safe and comfortable. You’ll meet with our medical team to check your vitals, review your medical and substance abuse history, and check for any withdrawal symptoms.
Step Five:
Building Your Recovery Plan
In addition to meeting with our medical team, you’ll work with our clinical staff who will begin developing an individualized treatment plan tailored to your specific recovery needs. This multidisciplinary approach ensures you receive the most comprehensive care possible.

Admission Criteria
In order for us to accept you into our Detox Program or Residential Inpatient Program, you must meet the following criteria:
- You must be medically stable. (If you are unsure what this means, please call (662) 810-4146 and ask our admissions staff how we define this.)
- You must not have an active eating disorder, as that can complicate the process and your safety.
- You must agree to comply with the Resident Code of Conduct.
- You must have a genuine desire to change.
- You must be willing to fully commit to a 30, 60, or 90-day program.
- You must be chemically dependent on an addictive substance: we are a recovery center for adult men who have substance use disorders.
- You must agree to not do the following, or you will be dismissed:
- Drug and/or alcohol use
- Inappropriate rage or anger towards others
- Repeated and/or serious violations of the Resident’s Code of Conduct
Admission Process
Once you have completed your initial medical and clinical evaluations and have been placed in the appropriate level of care, we’ll give you a tour of our rehab facility, explain the daily schedule, and assign you to a room. You’ll be given an orientation packet with welcome information and a detailed personal daily schedule that’s unique to your treatment plan.
One of our substance abuse counselors will take you to your room, go through your packed bag with you, and introduce you to your roommate if you have one. During this time, your family will be counseled on what to expect, and given their own information on how to support you, how to plan visits, our private Family Therapy and Education, and more.

Financing Options & Insurance
for Rehab in Mississippi
It’s our mission at Extra Mile Recovery to make drug and alcohol treatment affordable to anyone who asks for our help. Because we believe that rehab shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg, we have a dedicated team who have been specially trained on how to work with providers to get our clients the maximum insurance benefits. For those without insurance, we’ve also partnered with several finance companies to ensure private pay is cost-effective.
We believe that anyone can find freedom from addiction — and everyone deserves treatment that will help them do so. DON’T let concerns about lacking the coverage or funds for our programming stop you from considering us. We will help you find a way to get started!
Does Insurance Cover Addiction Treatment?
The American Medical Association defines alcoholism and drug addiction as both medically diagnoseable and treatable substance use disorders. This definition means insurance providers are required to cover treatment for addiction. The 2008 Affordable Care Act also requires that insurance cover substance abuse treatment the same as other medical conditions, meaning that you can apply for health insurance for addiction without being denied on the basis of a pre-existing condition.
In almost all cases, your insurance provider will cover some or all of your rehab programming. That said, all insurance companies are different. Our team at Extra Mile Recovery has a great deal of experience working with insurance companies and acquiring insurance information, from both in and out of network. During the admissions process, we’ll perform a verification of benefits to confirm your insurance information and what percentage of our cost will be covered by your insurance policy.
We accept most private insurance plans, and some state-government organized plans (often called “Health Insurance Marketplace” plans) to accommodate for most client needs. However, we unfortunately do not accept Medicaid or Medicare — if you have a Medicare or Medicaid health plan, we will help you find treatment at a facility that accepts it.
Drug and Alcohol Rehab Services Covered by Private Health Insurance
While all plans differ, most insurance companies will cover some or all of the cost of:
- Psychiatric screening and assessment
- Detox Program
- Residential Inpatient, both short and long-term
- Options for existing clients to extend their rehab with outpatient treatment, or sober living opportunities through one of our sister facilities, Brightside Sober Living and Ascension House.
In most cases, initial screening and assessment will be fully covered. Your official diagnosis for a substance use disorder will greatly impact your coverage for further drug and alcohol detox and treatment.
Another factor is what services your provider deems are “medically necessary.” For instance, basic residential treatment may be completely covered, but amenities such as having a private single room may be considered out-of-pocket expenses.
Financial Assistance Options
We offer a few different options for paying for rehab treatment outside of insurance, from establishing affordable self-pay rates to directing you to health care financing options and external payment plans.
Through eFinancing via several different lenders, we can offer a comprehensive range of financing options for different credit levels, and are able to approve more loans than with traditional methods. With one simple application, we are able to offer:
- Interest rates starting at 9.9%
- 6 and 12-month zero percent interest terms for qualified applicants
- 12-month to 84-month terms
- 1% cash back on first-year purchase through our credit card program
- Co-signer accepted for both family and non-family members
- Simple interest loans and line of credit programs available
