Alcohol & Drug Detox in Memphis
Among the first important steps for a client when then reach Extra Mile Recovery is our Drug & Alcohol Detox Program. Clients get clean under the supervision of our staff with our on-site ambulatory detox as they settle in and are kept safe and comfortable as they begin rehab with a strong foundation.
With that in mind, detox does really only address the physical side of our client’s addiction issues. It’s vital that clients move forward and join our inpatient treatment tracks that allow them to work on mental, emotional, and spiritual growth that will help them out for the rest of their lives.
Residential Inpatient Treatment Program
Our Residential Inpatient Programs keep clients engaged throughout treatment with individual substance abuse counseling, group and family therapy, and working through 12-step principles. During these sessions, clients can take a deeper look at themselves and the factors that led to their addiction, practice empathy and healthy coping skills, and build strong bonds of fellowship with their peers.
Outside of therapy, clients take in Mississippi’s breathtaking beauty on our gender-split campuses, engage in activities with other their peers, and reflect on what they’re learning. These opportunities are the same for clients who enter our 30, 60, or 90-day inpatient rehab programs.
Chronic Relapse
Recovery can be a difficult challenge, and no two people face the same obstacles. It’s not uncommon for people to relapse, and our Chronic Relapse Program gives clients the chance to find a new start in their rehab and recovery journey.
In this track, we dive into a client’s previous stints with other programs to find out what worked for them and what did not, as well as how their life away from rehab affects their chances to maintain their sobriety. By exploring the things that didn’t stick in the past, we can help clients get another chance at their recovery.
Aftercare & Alumni
Nobody’s recovery is “complete” when they step off our campuses, so at Extra Mile Recovery, we offer clients our Aftercare Planning & Lifetime Alumni Group to help facilitate lifelong success. A case manager is assigned to each client who will plan the transition from rehab into everyday life, as well as equip them with relapse-prevention education to help client’s confront common triggers. We also offer gender-split sober living at our sister facilities, Ascension and Brightside, for clients who could benefit from a more gradual transition away from intensive treatment.
Ultimately, these things are in place to help remind clients that they aren’t facing any of these challenges alone. Men and women in our program really do bond and support one another not only during treatment, but long into recovery as well. Their communal support and fellowship as Extra Mile Recovery alumni are lifelong benefits.

Driving Directions
We’re located at 45 Diana St. Suite #104 Memphis, TN 38104, a few blocks south of the Memphis Zoo.
If you’re coming from the north part of Memphis or the nearby suburbs, navigate to I-69 and head south. In town, Take the exit for Union Ave going east. Continue on Union until you reach Diana St, immediately after passing PYRO’s Fire Fresh Pizza, and then turn left. You’ll find our office at the end of the first block on your left.
If you’re coming from the south, make your way to Memphis International Airport and go north on Airways Blvd. After you cross over Nonconnah Creek, continue for 3.0 miles. When you pass MJ Edwards Funeral Home on your left, Airways Blvd turns into E Pkwy S. Continue on that for 1 mile, and then make a left on Madison Ave. In 0.6 miles, make a left on Diana St after the Saltwater Crab, and we’ll be on your right.
If you’re coming from the east near the University of Memphis, make your way to Poplar Ave and head west. After you pass Amro Music Stores on the right, take the exit onto Walnut Grove Rd and use it to continue onto Union Ave. Go west on Union Ave for 1.4 miles, and when you see Holiday Deli & Ham Co on your left, turn right onto S Florence St. In 350 feet, turn left onto Monroe Ave, and in 300 feet, make another left onto Diana.
